After receiving complaints of choking, Gerber is recalling its organic rice and organic oatmeal cereal. The hazard is caused by lumps of product that may not dissolve properly in milk or water. Gerber announced the recall late on Friday afternoon, but there is evidence they knew of the hazard six weeks ago. Many parents, already disturbed that something as essential as food could seriously injure or kill their children, believe the recall did not come soon enough.
